SSD and Windows 8

Hi, so i am currently using a Kingston 128gb ssd that has windows 7 on it, it is mainly my boot drive with a few games on it. i decided that i am going to buy another ssd (samsung 850 pro) but i need help because i want to install windows 8 on the new ssd but use my old ssd for storage so how would i go about doing this.

Do i unplug the old ssd and plug in the new ssd then install windows 8 on that via the disc and then once windows 8 is installed plug in the old one again and format it (im assuming formatting it will delete the windows 7 os on it aswell, right)? Then would i be good to go and be able to use the old ssd for storage?
 
Yeah, that would be the way to do it. You do not want both plugged in at the same during installation because of possible bootloader issues. Once W8 is installed and you plug in the old drive, you should be able transfer some of your old files onto the new drive before you format.
