SSD 850 Pro 256GB Assistance!

Plugged a SSD 850 Pro Samsung 256GB into the mother board and Samsung Magician isn't reading it for installation .. How can i fix this .. Could it already be working .. !

Does it show in Disk Management? I think it needs initialized from there.

Does the drive show up in BIOS? If yes and you boot into Windows and the drive is not there you need to open disk management and initalise it before you can use it.

If you are just trying to clone an installation I don't know if it has to be initialised first using the Samsung cloning software.

This. I had the same issue with a 500GB spinner; once I gave it a volume name in Disk Mgmt. all was fine.

True dat! Really though you have to mount a volume first before you can use it and windows computer management is the interface with which to perform this action. The disk management tool is a very useful utility and is required when introducing a new drive to an existing system. Building a new system/reinstalling an OS is different because the installation disc will take care of the partitioning and mounting as part of the installation process.
