I've got an SS51G with a P4 533fsb 2.4ghz and 512mb pc2100 from Crucial. Right now the machine is running at 2.62ghz and the mem is at 290 (if I misquote something, please don't kill me, I don't know as much as some people). The only thing I have done to this cooling wise is I installed round cables to replace the IDE cables and I replaced the stock fan for a blue lit (and much quieter) fan. I also put a heat sink on my RAM, as I didn't want to take any chances. Sandra '03 says the P4 runs between 42 and 45C. Do I only need to watch the temp on this or can other things cause problems for me? Also, Does anybody else have an SS51G overclocked so I have something to compare to? Has anybody figured out how to mod this thing for better cooling? For those who are curious, I am using the integrated video @ 64mb until I can afford the All in Wonder 9700 Pro. I want to be able to get rid of my TV... College student, trying to fit everything I own in my bedroom. If anybody has a similar setup set higher than mine and it is still safe, let me know please!

I bought one of the first SS51s (without parallel port cutout) along with a P4 1.8A and overclocked it to a 2.4/533FSB chip. I have only been able to get mine up to around 138-139Mhz before the IDE controller goes crazy and kills the Windows install. :( I don't think many people have gotten much higher than that unfortunately. The busses are not at fixed frequencies unfortunately.

So you are saying I should be happy that I got mine to 145mhz (from 133) and just leave it alone huh?

Yeah pretty much. :) Unless you want to get into voltage mods and other stuff the SS51G doesn't go super high on the FSB scale.
