NETWORK ENGINEER, PRINCIPAL
LOCATION ? WASHINGTON, D.C.
LENGTH ? FULLTIME (DIRECT HIRE)
Responsibility:
Candidate will be responsible for providing design validation, testing solutions and proactive Tier IV support for medium sized government
agency. The more hands-on experience candidates have with multiple data technologies the better. This position is responsible to develop and
certify solutions to support customer requirements, provide IP technology solutions, work with Project Management division on viability
of technology solutions being marketed to the government, and verifying the interoperability and integration of new systems into the converged
network. A thorough understanding of VPN offerings and an in-depth understanding of Layer2 and Layer3 VPN technologies, MPLS, BGP, QoS,
and performance SLA's.
Requirements:
Network Engineer with heavy Cisco experience needed for senior government agency. Candidate must have at least 3 years of HANDS on
experience. VoIP, SVoIP, and VOSiP experience mandatory, working with military and senior government agencies extremely helpful, and a Top
Secret security clearance with ability to get SCI clearance.
In depth knowledge of TCP/IP networking, IP routing, BGP/OSPF EIGRP/multicast routing, IPSec, VPN, and HAIPE based encryption technologies required. This is hands-on experience not cursory knowledge.
Cisco certifications mandatory, CCNP/DP at minimum, and candidate will be required to ultimately achieve their CCIE.
Expert knowledge with 6500/4000/3500, etc. switches, all routers (3800, 3700, 3600, etc.) PIX firewalls, Cisco Call Manager, Cisco IP phones and network monitoring and troubleshooting, SNMP, Netflow and customized software.
This is NOT a Microsoft System administration job.
Desire:
Requires bachelor's degree (in Computer Science, Engineering, Economics or Math) or equivalent, and ten to twelve years of related (telecommunication analysis) experience.
Security Clearance: TS
Clearance Currency: Must be Current
