I like nothing more than talking to someone in India, but I wish they had told me to try pushing the hidden reset button on the modem rather than turning it off and on, power cycling my router and PC too. They asked me to do this on both phone calls.

Called on Sunday morning they said they detected a problem and someone would call me Monday....No call.
I called them on Monday they said they would call me back on Tuesday.....still no call.

I peeled a sticker off the back today and found a reset button (maybe I'm the idiot)

SBC is leaving a bad taste in my mouth. Can't wait for them to finally call me.

I would be frustrated if people went around calling me Squisher. :)

I'm sorry but that is just a hell of a funny nick!

oh and sometimes the reset button is hidden underneath stickers. Or those little rubber foot thingies.

I usually refer to myself as your Lord and Master, but I thought that was a bit much for a discussion about dsl support.

Phoenix86 was told "You can buy another copy and use that license" when asking for a product key on ALREADY PRUCHASED SOFTWARE (HDD crashed, internet purchased software).

Then I heard "My supervisor is busy, you can call back later and see if they are available later" when I tried to escalate.

Gee, I "get" to call back later and "see" if they are available....? WTF.

This was from Symantec no less... :|:|:|

ok.

sometimes the modems just suck in general. I've returned mine about 3 times and they all act up somehow....

I went with dslextreme instead of having to deal directly with sbc and am very happy with the choice. They are very easy to get a hold of any time of the day and are very helpful.
