@#$%$# Squirrels in my Eaves - updated

GasX

Lifer
Anyone know how to get rid of squirrels in your eaves. The little mutha effers are destroying my house. I hate the little bastards but can't seem to get rid of them!!

update: - I whacked one this morning. One pellet to the back of the head at a range of about 9 inches. The bastards woke me up at 6am (I get up at 7:30). I dragged my ass out of bed and went up to my third floor. I opened up the screen door that overlooks their entrance to MY house and waited. After listening to them scurry around and do YET more damage to the inside of my house, one of them stuck his head out. I lowered the rifle and fired. He died right away, which is good for two reasons: 1. I didn't make him suffer unecessarily. 2. he didn't duck back in die in the walls.

One down, one (or more) to go...

Eaves are the part of your roof that project out from the walls. The little bastards get in there are chew up everything.

:|

let the leaves dry up a little then unleash either a. Motolov Cocktail b. lit cigarette c. fire in general

or simply purchase new gutters that are sealed

They aren't in the gutters, they are inside the house in the space between the roof and the walls. Eating the wood and the insulation. I have coated the hole they chewed up to get in with liquid fence, but they seem not too bothered by it.:|

22 with a scope. Got 6 in one day when I was 14 🙂

They were tearing up our roof :|

Run uninsulated high voltage wires throughout the eves? Like the bug-zapper principle, but bigger. On a more serious note, rat poison.

The problem with poison is that if they die IN the eaves, then I am going to have a very smelly house for a while 🙁.

I guess I have to at this point...

play hella loud music and piss them off, i had the same problem with a noisy bird:disgust: but a hose and a "pellet gun" took care of that
hehe

I can't help with the rodent problem, but I'm relieved to learn the actual subject of this thread.

My bad eyesight tricked me into thinking the topic title was "Squirrels in my Eyes."

On a similar note, something just as inhumane as a rifle but requiring much less effort: A cat. The first year we moved out to the country the yard was torn up by moles and there were chipmunks all over the place. My daughter got a kitten and within six months the only moles/chipmunks we found were the 'gifts' brought to the porch.
