Squeezing a Good Upgrade into a BH6 w/ PC100 RAM??

I am planning to upgrade my processor soon and I'd like to do it as cheaply as possible within reason - i.e., without buying a new motherboard and RAM. I'm wondering how far I can stretch my current mobo/RAM set up:

Abit BH6 version 1.01 (original, I think, w/original BIOS)
256 MB PC100 RAM

Would a Celeron II 633 run on this set up? I know that the BH6 is a Slot 1 and I'd have to get a FC-PGA adapter to fit in a new Celeron.

I'm currently running a Celeron 300A@450, cooled by a Glacier 4500 fan (the early classic overclock). I've heard that the Celeron II 633 can make it to 950 pretty easily with adequate cooling. I would kill to double my processing speed for about $100 or so!

Any thoughts, comments, or suggestions are very welcome. Thanks in advance!

Multiplier for 633 MHz Celeron is 9.5. Abit BH6 with original BIOS probably supports max. 8 - but it should not be fatal - CPU will probably work at full speed correctly, only in BIOS it will be shown as 533 MHz Cel. But dont worry-as it has locked multiplier, it will work as 663 (9.5*66). Maybe BIOS upgrade can correct this cosmetic problem. As for "overclockability", this CPU should still behave relatively friendly to OC, altough maybe not so much as 566 na 600 MHz Cel. do.
