It's from the engine area, probably from the belts.. WHICH belt though.. ... Can I find out, or am I forced to be raped by the mechanic when he tells me all of them..

not a very old car, 2003 camry v6

Noise seems to placate after driving for a while.. happens mostly when after the car starts.

I'm sure it's not the brakes.

You could hit one of them with belt dressing to see if the noise goes away..that'll tell you which belt anyway.
