squeaky floors.....ever try this product?

You should see the hardwood floors at a friend's house. There are about 500 screws holding it down. The previous owner would stick a screw in the floor any time they found a squeek. It's seriously more metal than wood now. Really funny to see.

Did he put them in from the top???

If so, what an idiot. He should have put them in from below so you can't see them.

And I would never use a system like the one above.

our house inspector looked at some of our squeaky floors and suggested that stuff. i guess it at least works temporarily if you don't want to pull up the carpet

I've seen that. I see no problem with it as long as you patch the holes correctly.

Squeky floors can't be fixed. You need to buy a new home that uses engineered wood. Old wood warps, etc. That's why it squeaks.
