Videogames.com -
The constant rumors regarding the fate of SquareSoft's first online RPG, Final Fantasy XI, particularly about its cross-console release, can now be put to rest. Hironobu Sakaguchi, creator of the Final Fantasy series, confirmed with GameSpot that Final Fantasy XI, although initially in development for the Sony PlayStation 2 and the PC, will indeed be released on multiple consoles. Although he refrained from naming the specific platforms, the game's release will include the Microsoft Xbox and likely the Nintendo GameCube. "Initially, of course, the game will be released for the Sony PlayStation 2 and the PC platform, but in order to gain as broad an audience as possible, we will release it across other consoles in the future." Sakaguchi told GameSpot.

Actually with only your Geforce 2 GTS backing up your claim I would beg to differ..

I mean when they are playing FFXI online, using a TV sucks and you hafta buy extra a mouse and stuff for the consoles. Does Gamecube have a broadband adapter? Having to buy all that new stuff will suck

And that Geforce 2 is clocked at 225/400. Blah I need new stuff but I'm waiting since I'll be going to college nxt yr, 2 more months and its time to blow it out :D

FFXI will probably use the controller for most of the gameplay aspects.. either way for the convenience factor aka 20" Sony Trinitron monitor, I'm definitely gonna play that game on my PC as well plus having to buy a broadband adapter would kill the deal on the console anyway..

Gamecube doesn't have a broadband adapter I don't think.. XBox I would think has it so that is what I'd go for if I wanted to get into consoles again.. another key thing is whether they have hard drives to because having to purchase a hard drive would really stink!

When I think about a Geforce 3 going for around $400 and it's just one of many computer components I rather like the cheapness of consoles in comparison.. but then again in another 6 months GF3's will be $150 and that is why I stick with my PC :D that and my TV is smaller than my damn monitor ;)
