According to Joystiq, these games will be playable at E3:

* Chrono Trigger (DS; Holiday 2008)
* Dragon Quest IV: Chapters of the Chosen (DS; September 16)
* Final Fantasy IV (DS; July 22)
* Infinite Undiscovery (Xbox 360; September 2)
* Song Summoner: The Unsung Heroes (iPod; Now Available)

While these will not be playable:

* The Last Remnant (Xbox 360, PS3; Winter for Xbox 360, TBA for PS3)
* Star Ocean: First Departure (PSP; October 21)
* Star Ocean: Second Evolution (PSP; January 6)
* Star Ocean: The Last Hope (Xbox 360; 2009)
* Exit DS (DS; October 7)
* The Legend of Kage 2 (DS; October 7)

What happened to FFXIII? Will be shown but not listed or will not be shown at all?

The Last Remnant is TBA for the PS3. And, of course, there is FFXIII but nothing is mentioned here.

Alas, those are JSRPGs, which aren't quite the same as JRPGs.

Diseaga 3 looks horrible. They took the PS1 sprites, didn't bother to redraw them, and put it high res.

That must mean FF XIII isn't going to be out by Spring '09.

Oh well, there are advantages to having missed the last 10 years of console games. I still need to play Persona 3, FF IV - VIII, IX (finish playing), X, XII plus Chrono Trigger, Xenogears, Xenosaga 3, Front Mission 4, Shadow Hearts, Disgaea, Star Ocean, ....

And Operation Darkness once I get a Jasper 360. It will be terrible, but I can't resist 🙂

a) It was a PS2 game, not PS1.

b) Noone played Disgaea for the graphics anyways.

I meant PS1 Sprites, meang sprites that look like they came from the PS1 generation.

And even though you don't play with the graphics, really, its just a blur of pixels, that barely make out a comprehensible model. They didn't even bother to update it. Hell, even the environments suck.

fact: since the beginning of FFXIII, 13 squareenix developers have died due to mysterious circumstances. as such, FFXIII is scheduled for launch on 13/13/2013.
