i think that is true, but they also said this so they don't have to flip-flop later on IN THE EVENT that XBOX 360 outsells PS3 in America and that it is more financially viable on MS's or Nintendo's platforms

i fully support x360 for hardcore gaming and wii for some good fun as well.

You support ANY of the current gen systems for hardcore gaming? I'd sure love to know what uber games you're playing, because as it stands, none of the current gen systems are worth having really. That said, I do own a Wii and 360, for future games of course, since there isn't jack god damn sh!t worth playing on either of them yet, except Zelda, which took all of half a week.

I don't think it will matter. Even if FFXIII showed up on 360 (no credence has been given to that rumor), that doesn't discredit the fact that almost every other Japanese RPG is made on the PS3, and the FFXIII will at least be *on* the PS3. If given the choice between a console you own and a console you don't own, which would you choose? That's been a huge reason for the PS3's dismal sales in the US, the 360 got a year's head start.

With Final Fantasy, if you want multiple games sharing the same world, you have to give them the same number. This is because traditionally, if the FF game has a new number then it's a new story with new characters. For example, FF X-2 was the FFX world and most of the characters were present, but they didn't call it FFXI because it wasn't the next game yet; just an expansion of the FFX game.

It's a new trend they're doing. They're taking the specific world in the "main" game and creating off-shoots. They have done/are doing this for FFVII, FFX, and FFXII. There are also rumors of a new MMORPG which has been speculated to either fall under FFXIII or will be another FFXI.

They're all different types of games. Final Fantasy XIII is typical Final Fantasy game - a Japanese/console RPG. Versus is an action RPG, and Agito is for mobile phones. The other two haven't been announced yet, and may not even be video games. It's the same thing they did with Final Fantasy VII - there were several games in different genres, as well as two movies and two books.

Yeah, FFXIII wouldn't help the 360 in Japan. It would help it in the US though.

In any event, it doesn't sound likely that it'll be cross-platform.

There is a new Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles coming out for the Nintendo DS if I recall correctly. You will be able to play with other people controlling other characters in your group, except instead of having them all in front of the Gamecube as with the original Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles, you will be able to do it over Wi-Fi.
