1. That is the ONLY site that has this info, no where else is this even listed

2. There are 6 FF13 games. 3 of them were never given a console. So that could be it

3. There is not even a quote or a source backing up his statement

There are quite a few FF13 games. Several of them are not for the PS3, or not exclusive. This has been known for a while.

OK, so what you meant was "There are 5 FF13 games. 2 of them haven't even been announced yet."

At very least, it seems that the exclusivity of Final Fantasy XIII (proper) is not a certainty:

There ARE 6. There's a shot from a presentation that's been floating around showing the profit (or maybe just income) generated from all the FFVII projects compared to what they expect for the FFXIII projects. On the FFXIII side, there were 6 bubbles with three of them already filled in--the first three in your list. The rest have question marks.

Edit: Didn't remember the bubbles correctly. They were just filled in with the systems.

Dissidia actually hasn't been confirmed to belong to FF yet, but it's a reasonable assumption.

i wish they would make a new 2D Final Fantasy based on the old days (fresh stories, etc, but interface similar to FF4-6) on the DS.
like what new super mario bros. did. maybe a New Final Fantasy DS.


edit: know about Ff12 revenant wings, but that's part of the FF12 story

Now that's a good idea. :thumbsup: If you haven't played FF V, you could get that for GBA (not sure how similar it is to FF IV and VI, as I haven't played FF V. I really need to get around to playing FF II, III, V, VII, VIII, IX, X, and X-2. I own all of them, but haven't played them yet.

Sounds about right. I loved IV and VI though.

While I love my Wii and while likely NEVER own a PS3, this just sounds like unannounced spin-offs for non-PS3 systems ala the PSP titles. Though it wouldn't surprise me that SquareEnix would want to profit off the significant 360 user base. Imagine what FFXIII could do for 360 sales in japan.

Motomu Toriyama of Square Enix has come out and made the confirmation that other consoles will be receiving Final Fantasy XIII on top of the PlayStation 3.

That line there makes me think he means the regular FF13, not the spin-offs, but that's just my interpretation. Regardless, it will still most likely look better (albeit only slightly) on the PS3.

(Oh and for the list of FF13's you missed Fabula Nova Crystalis, unless it has a different name)

In terms of the formats we're reaching, as well, it's not simply exclusive to the PS3 and Mobile Phones. In Latin, Fabula Nova Crystallis means "New Crystal Story" and we're using that as a base for the project, there are many characters and legends that are branching from this main story and universe. It's a huge project.
