SQL2005 and MSDE

We have a system that is a distributed database. All of the offices right now are running MSDE and replicate to a central SQL2000 server. We just found out that a new app that is rolling out will require us to move the central server to SQL2005.
Is it possible to replicate a SQL2000 database using MSDE to a SQL2005 server? Or will we have to move all of the field offices to SQL2005 express??
