Have the following:
2 Dell Poweredge 2650 clustered connected to a Powervault 220 NAS
1 Dell Poweredge 1850 (media server) connected to a Powervault 122T tape drive
Veritas Backup Exec 10
MS SQL 2000
all connected thru a cisco 100Mbps switch
backing up the SQL database form the cluster to the media server hard drive first, and then to tape.
how would i go about backup up the file in enterprise manager to my media server? when i goto backup database, it only shows the local E: which is the drive the sql database is located. and all this can be done while users are accessing and making changes in the database since it takes a snapshot for the backup?
and since im first backing up to hard drive first, i shouldn't need all those veritas backup agents?
any better ways to do a backup?
