SQL 7 and Domino on the same box?

is this a bad idea to put both apps on one box? we dont really care about performance since we only want to do some small testing ...

From experience, I would say don't put ANYTHING else on the same NT server as Domino. What release of Domino are you talking about, and what features?

I've seen a Domino server that was also running SQL and it was really pathetic. P3, 512MB RAM, SCSI RAID5, slowed down to a CRAWL.

That's my opinion, of course, so somebody else who's worked with Domino might have a more positive take on this.

well we were planning to use this box just to test various sql and domino databases and some of these databases have sql backend but it wont be a production server, we wont have more then a few developers on testing their apps/database ...

thanks for your help ...

No problem. Since it's not a production server, then it's not a problem. Just slow.

Good luck.
