I constantly see a popup that AVG email scanner is scanning, and it says: "AutoPOP3: Connecting to 124-197-23-248.callplus.net.nz". This happens constantly, even though Outlook is closed. I scanned for spyware and viruses and came up with nothing (Spybot/AVG). I also have recently been recieving random bounced messages.

I searched for callplus.net.nz on google and found nothing. Could someone please help me with this?!

Thanks so much!!

Sounds like you have a Dialer Trojan running ... I would scan in SAFE Mode
with AVG or EWIDO or Kaspersky and see what turns up

Yeah, uninstall AVG, install a trialware of Kaspersky from http://www.kaspersky.com/trials, go to Settings and max out everything everywhere, then update, reboot, and do the full Scan My Computer.

Also figure out where you got suckered into letting a Trojan in the door, and don't do that again. Update all your software to the latest version, there's known vulnerabilities in older versions of QuickTime, Flash Player, WinAmp, FireFox, Opera, all manner of IM proggies, just go right down the list and uninstall all that stuff and then go get the newest version.

Thanks guys. I did just that. It scanned for HOURS! It was at 94% when I went to sleep. I didn't have a chance to mess with it this morning though.

I have a couple of questions about this. It found malware in various locations, could that be the cause? Otherwise, it did find one trojan, but it was within an .iso image. If it is within that image, but not run on my computer, it can't hurt me, correct? I hope these aren't too dumb of questions ;).

It's not going to get activated by sitting on your hard drive, if that's your question. It's the same as if malware were found in your Restore Points. Unless you restored back to a point that's infected, it won't do anything.

Just keep in mind that the image that you made contains malware. Seems to me it's useless to keep it at this point. You need to make another disk image, but that's your call.
