Spyware/Malware forum

Based on the popularity of Schadenfroh's How to remove Spyware, Adware and Hijacking thread, how about a separate forums for these kinds of issues?

That way each individual case can be handled in a separate thread without the confusion that has become that thread... There should only be replies from "qualified" members who know what they're doing with the various tools -- especially when HiJackThis is being used.

A spyware only forum? Not going to happen. What about a virus only forum then? Trojan only forum? Java only forum? It's too detailed a subject to warrant it's own forum.

k- spyware/malware/virus... doesn't matter. If someone needs that kind of help, it shouldn't all be running into one thread like it is now...

BTW -- there are whole websites dedicated to spyware that deal with these exact types of threads

Then let those websites make individual forums. The software forum should be enough to handle this. Sticky the "How-To" at the top, lock it, and let people read it before posting a thread about spyware problems.

the only real problem i see is that allot of people post those spyware threads in off topic, operating systems, and even general hardware. i had originally intended for people to post seperate spyware threads inside the sottware forum so it would be easy to deal with, but people just kept responding to the same one. the best way i can see to deal with it is to clear out all the replies and lock the thread itself and keep it stickied, forcing people to post threads about their specific issue rather than having one giant one have a few small ones that go away very quickly.
