spyware infection and screen resolution problem

Hello,

I have a problem with an XP sp3 computer which was infected with spyware guard 2009. I booted into safe mode and ran Malware Bytes, it detected some malware and deleted the files. Now when I boot up the screen resolution is stuck at low-res and trying to increase results in staying stuck at 680x480. Tried reinstalling the driver, didn't help (geforce 5200 agp).

Any advice is appreciated. Thanks!

Spyware Guard 2009 can be a really annoying one and not to mention it's big pain to remove it from the system. What antivirus programme are you using on your system? Update it and run a full system scan with it.. Looks like your system is still infected. You might want to give this a read for removal instructions:

If you can, download and run HijackThis and post the log file here.

Thanks for the advice... I'll probably just end up nuking the o.s. and re-installing, unfortunately. I never really feel right about systems after something like this happens.
