spyware? dialers

i didnt really know where to post this so if belongs somewhere else lmk.

i just had an icon show up on my desktop with the wording "innocent virgins". i right clicked on it and it showed a link to "dialers" in i believe c/windows/programs or system. i also seem to have had a lot of modem activity. once, with all windows closed the modem was running continuously untill i shut the comp down. i deleted the icon, deleted the dialers folder and disabled the program in the startup menu. every thing looks ok now.

does anyone have any info on what this is. a local business i had mentioned this to called me and said they also had this program and wondered if it was spyware and if it was anything to worry about after they deleted it. i said i would post here and get back to them if i get any help.

thanks in advance

Usuaully, it's a program that installs a dialup connection which calls a 900 number and charges you some crazy amount of $$ for porn. It's downloaded by mistake from websites, emails, ect...

that interesting. i suppose ill have to check my phone bill. it looks from the recycle bin that it was only on my my computer for 12 hrs and most of that during the night.

hopefully it couldnt use my modem as it was already connected to the isp and i caught the icon on start up the next morning.

thanks

My mother had the exact problem, with the same icon. My cousin was on her computer looking at some porn. The dialer was dialing 1-900 numbers. She ended up having $80+ in charges on her phone bill.
