Hey everyone,

I recently got a ton of spyware onto my computer, how? I dont even know.

I tried using spyware and adware to remove it but no luck.

When I try to go to a website, it sometimes loads up a site that says Windows Help Center : " Error: you have entered the wrong URL into the address bar. Probably you were trying to enter the following address: www.xyz.com"

the address bar says this: res://veicp.dll/url_error.html#download.com - I was trying to go to download.com

Can anyone help?

Thanks.

Go HERE and follow Schadenfroh's advice. He's got a link under his sig to site with instructions on removing viruses, spyware etc.

Good Luck with it.

My usual advice too - download something for CoolWebSearch, may its creators rot in hell. Spybot, Adaware, and CWShredder are the three main spyware removers you need......though some variants of CWS require CoolWWWSearch.SmartKiller removal tool to clear the path for CWShredder to be installed.

And lastly, I'll recommend Firefox. It's more resistant to spyware, either because it's coded better, or because it's just not as popular as IE is - yet.
