I also keep having to tell Windows that I have my own anti-virus software that I will keep track of after every reboot. Has anyone else encountered this?

Yea I have, It's probably another one of Microsoft's 1232831608756 bugs. Sometimes when my PC starts up I'll get that "Computer at risk" icon. This only happens 1/5 times I start my PC.

i have stopped using adaware and spybot there are better options now.

Microsoft anti spyware and I also get a free subscription to webroots spysweeper with my isp account.

So on the warning from security center, if I read you right, you are saying you shut off the warning in the security center and it continues to prompt you?
If thats the case I can't say I have experienced that. I shut off the warning telling it I would manage it myself and it has let me.

I tell it I will manage it myself, but then I get the warning again once I reboot. I get the same warning on SpyBot when I scan after reboot as well.

Open spybot

Mode>Advanced Mode

click the settings tab on the left, click ignore products

click security.sbi tab

check Windows Security Center.AntiVirusOverride

Nothing to worry about, spybot just sees that the settings in security center have changed and it resets them during the scan. Just ignore it.
