Spy Sweeper with Antivirus

I just got the version with A/V (which was FAMIR) and noticed there was another version without A/V (not FAMIR). I don't want to use their A/V. Before I open the box, will I be able to disable the A/V portion?

It uses the Sophos engine (mediocre at best) and it can be disabled.
