Spy Shots: '08 Cadillac CTS

Cadillac's CTS sedan will be new for the 2008 model year. The next-generation CTS will be built on GM's rear-wheel-drive Sigma platform. This prototype, photographed at Germany 's famous Nürburgring racetrack, gives a look at the dramatic styling of the new CTS.

Despite the checkerboard tape over the car's front end, one can clearly see the bold lines and massive grille of the new CTS, showing a family resemblance to the latest Cadillac Escalade. A peek inside the open side window gives a look at the interior of the new CTS.

The new CTS is expected to go on sale in late 2007 as a 2008 model.

Looks like someone has jammed a Vectra grille onto a Mercedes body, then liberally added chrome :barf;

Probably not. They may update it slightly, but I predict that the XLR will die a horrible death after the first generation.

damn, the only spyshot is of a heavily heavily cladded car.

the rest are renderings.

and IMO, in the photos of the CBS CTS the rear taillights are about 3" wider which would make them look great.

It looks pretty horrible (without the camo), but the rear is the worst. Front is ok, but too much bling bling.

Let's hope they abandon the silver plastic grille in favor of genuine solid aluminum. Nothing says luxury like a plastic grille.

agreed. a little too much chrysler 300 there.

front looks like its inspired by the new G35 coupe.

overall, not bad at all. i like the CTS, though i don't think i'd own one.

hmm... I'm not sure if they can improve on the current CTS design, IMO. It's pretty spot-on...
