I like it.

I guess we can only hope the build quality is as good as the exterior styling.

Ford might pull out of their spin if they can come up with cars like that

why don't they simply sell the mondeo here? in europe, it's widely accepted as a not bad car - which would be a nice change of pace.

Looks pretty upscale.

Of course, Ford sells all sorts of quality cars overseas...go figure.

the new car will include the 3.5l EcoBoost engine delivering about 350 horses without any mileage penalty.

I like that

I wonder what's going to get dropped into the Mustang and Mustang GT's of the world if a Taurus is pumping out 350 HP, even as an option...????

I like that the Taurus will have that option - I think another SHO would sell great - but if they do that, then the Mustang GT is going to have to be well into the 400's to remain the sport car of the lineup.

I wish Ford would bring out a true 4 seater hardtop convertible, 300+ HP, 300+ TQ, with a usable trunk (Volvo C70 is nice...until you have to use the trunk). With all the baby boomers retiring, but still with lots of life left in them, I think something like this could be a good seller also...

The 3.5l eco-boost/twin force originally was rated at 415hp but they de-tuned it a bit for the FWD setups. It would bug a lot of the mustang crowd but I certainly wouldn't mind a Mustang Boss or something with the 415hp version at a little over $30k. Better gas mileage and more powar. Wouldn't mind them dropping the v6 for a 4 banger turbo either. That might actually bring in a whole new group.

Well that Taurus is following the Iosis design language shown in the Mondeo.

I'd be down for one with rear wheel drive or MAYBE all wheel drive. I'm not holding my breath though.

Looks like a 2008 Honda Accord ripoff, but hey, at least they are doing what most domestic manufacturers are supposed to do in the first place :D

because last time they tried to sell the mondeo here it was a big time failure.

the mondeo may now be riding on the fusion platform. but i've heard conflicting reports about that.

Wow! I have to say that it looks pretty good....ESPECIALLY for a Ford!!!

BUT.........

I feel like I"m basically looking at an '08 Honda Accord/Acura TL/Camry/little bit of Buick in there w/ the big bottom mouth intake.

???

(Is it even humanly possible that Ford could resurrect the American car segment???)

The car will be powered by a transversely mounted V6 engine mated to a six-speed automatic transmission and powering front or all four wheels.

Wow, I might have to present a Taurus that's visually appealing and people will be attracted to it!
