argh...i kept saying to myself...just come up with a plan to give it to shaq down low....worst case then is overtime...bestcase they foul him on his way up...

i had a bad feeling about shooting a 3...seems like we do that too much...

<---wouldnt be mad if that shot went in though :)

they had the momentum, they should've just gone for 2. they would've killed the spurs in OT.

There is a strategy among many teams that if you are on the road and down by 2 with the last shot of the game, just go for 3. But then again, it might be different for playoffs.

it just didnt seem like they had a back up plan for the play...the first plan must have failed...then they gave shaq the ball out past the 3 point line...and kobe ran into the corner where he either breaks the corner and goes in for a dunk...or gets stuck...he got stuck...

Agreed, but he's also only 21 for crying out loud.

Tony Parker choke big time in these two game.
I was before wondering whether getting Jason Kidd would help Spurs at all, now it seem Parker is too far to even come close to Jason kidd.

i just wish the lakers would show up to the game earlier...

i mean even when we beat the hell out of the spurs in game 3...they looked like they were trying...

tonight it looked like there were middle school kids on the court for a while

Well I think if the Spurs win the championship, they will keep Parker... as he's "good enough." But if they don't, I expect them to give him the boot. Personally, I would trade him away and get Jason Kidd in a heartbeat. Parker will NEVER come close to matching Jason Kidd's skill.

Duncan also looks like too much of a wimp. He got totally rejected by Shaq for the second to last shot (c'mon you're supposed to be the MVP for christs sake), and then he shot up a horrible attempt bank after.

one day they will learn that they can't just show up for the 4th quarter. or just the playoffs and not the regular season. i just hope they don't have to be eliminated for them to figure it out.

spurs have a good team, even though they are a bunch of chokers in the 4th for some reason.

True Parker isn't good enough to hold Kidd's jockstrap. Realistically however, Kidd needs room to operate and with the half court set that the Spurs run the ball, Kidd won't be getting the ball in ANY way that would take advantage of his skills. He'd be seriously another player in the set running off screens or shooting off the double team. That's a waste of his talent considering he's a career 39/40% shooter. Ideally, they need to season Parker and pick up another big to take the heat off Duncan when Robinson retires or a versatile swing man with a stroke...neither of which is Kidd. Either way, with the tons of FA's coming out, they can go for a legitimate big with the veteran's exeption like Malone, PJ Brown, Keon Clark...etc and STILL get that perimeter player in a possible sign and trade (signing some fool they don't need to trade for one they do...etc., etc.).

bah. such a heartbreaker considering they came back from such a defecit to end up losing anyways. this game was horrible for the lakers yet i don't see the spur fans coming in here crying about the foul calls. shaq was pretty quiet this one so hopefully he'll come out stronger on thursday.

What a great 2nd half. Lakers come from 25 back to within two with 15 seconds left and the Lakers with the ball. Even despite the fact Horry missed the three by a few mm's, the Spurs have got to have very little confidence right now. Did you see the way the Spurs reacted even after the clock ran out and they knew they had won? They looked like they had just dodged Death himself. Duncan was stoic as was the rest of the team. Assuming no other injuries, Lakers will take Game 6 and very likely Game 7. Right now the Spurs have no confidence after being one in-and-out 3-pointer away from losing after a 25 point lead.

horry is trash. he just gets lucky every once in awhile in the right place at the right time. i have no respect whatsoever for that will smith lookalike

Apparently you don't remember Horry's two 3-point baskets last season, the first one closed out the Blazers and the second one essentially won the WCF for them (Kings fans are still crying over that shot). Of course, I bet you've forgotten about all of Horry's clutch shooting in Houston during their back to back championship run in the mid 90's. To say Horry chocked is ridiculous, stop being a fanboy.

You are an idiot! "he just gets lucky every once in awhile"? Shooting 30% from the 3 pt line is hardly getting lucky. Before you post something, get your facts straight.

That said, looks like Lakers will have to go win it in 7. No biggie. Just wish we could've had a Queens-Lakers Conference Finals (right Stojakawimp?) Oh well, looks like the Lakers will have to take on the Mavs.

All the Sac fans and Laker Haters come out after a Laker loss~ They were saying the same stuff about Lakers when Lakers whooped Minnesota, and Lakers will do it again vs. San Antonio.

Don't worry Sac fans, I'm rooting for a Lakers vs. Kings rematch, but I suppose you guys are rooting for a Spurs vs. Kings (if they get out of this jam).

There wasn't really any crazy fouls calls going on. The refs let the players decide who will win the game. Thats the way it is supposed to be.

P.S. Did anyone see Phil Jackson girlfriend? She looked like she was 28. What a stud muffin.

whoa, check this out on Jeannie Buss.

Jackson lives on the beach in southern California and sports a new designer hairstyle and a soul patch on his chin. He's also romantically involved with Lakers vice president Jeannie Buss, a 39-year-old onetime Playboy model, whose dad owns the team.

former Playboy model..

That's Jeannie Buss, Phil's girlfriend/Dr. Buss' (the owner) daughter.

FYI she appeared in playboy in the late 80's or early 90's...can't remember when exactly.
