Spurs-Lakers predictions? -- Lakers win 4-1

Who'll win in how many games?

The Lakers are cold after their long break and the Spurs are missing D-Rob...at least for a few games. The Lakers won the regular season series 3-1 but the scores in a couple of those games shows it can go either way depending on the day...so anyhow, what's your prediction?

EDIT: Looks like about 31% of you were right :)

Because the Lakers are cocky, and if you take away Shaq, we don't have a team at all?

Also, because Shaq can't make free throws and Kobe's a ballhog

:p

Hey I can't remember what happened last year. What was it again? Oh yeah, a sweep and total humiliation of the Spurs.

Shaq has been making his free throws lately. And if you're playing a championship game, you ain't gonna try to "share" the ball and make sure everyone gets a bucket. You dish it to whoever can reliably make it.

Lakers did totally kill the spurs last year but spurs did get steve smith and tony parker this year. if those two get it going, lakers might have trouble. otherwise, yawn let's just give lakers the trophy already

And how was it different last year? :) Shaq will make em when they count or come back with a vengenace, and I think Kobe proved he at least trusts Mr. June, Robert Horry.

Lakers are gonna beat the asterik champions, again. True, Tim Duncan's great, but Shaq's greater. Kobe's great... and we ran out of players on SA's side.

But, I wouldn't be surprised by the Lakes if they drop a couple out of boredom or rust. A full week between games is pretty long...

hellloooo? why are you even bringing in shaq? is shaq guarding either of them? tony parker and steve smith ARE good players in case you don't know. spurs have a good inside presence last year with duncan but not really any good outside presence. that's why they got slaughtered. this year they do and like i said IF parker and smith can get it going, then lakers might have trouble.

regular season means nothing..... lakers in 4

MAYBE the spurs will win one if the lakers jump out 3-0 and dont play to their fullest, however, the more the lakers won in last years series the more the spurs folded

the spurs' problems are much deeper than that. look at portland, they have a good inside game w/ wallace and plenty of shooters, including steve smith the last two years, and the lakers have won 7 in a row vs that team. the lakers didnt go 15-1 last year because the other teams were bad, they went 15-1 because they were THAT good. implying that all you need is an inside and outside game well...... the game just isnt that black and white.

im sure SA would have a chance if u could just "take away Shaq" but unfortunately both him and kobe are going to play so SA will most likely go down in 4 or 5 max.

Lakers in 4, again. Spurs are down right now...Tim's dad, Robinson has a tough time guarding Shaq when he's 100%, he may not play at all.

any team without their star will do horribly, look at the spurs in game 4 and compare it in game 5. stars are not only good themselves, they make the players around them better too.

BTW, Tony Parker will be abusing Derek Fisher like there is no tomorrow

Pretty sure Lakers can't sweep spurs again this year. But after 5 games everything should be said and done :)
Of course, I mean lakers in 5..not the other way around :)

Lakers will win the series 4-1 if they don't play as bad as they did in games 1 and 2, which were exceptionally poor games for the Lakers by any standard you can come up with.

In other words, if the Lakers play average (their playoff average) they'll take this series in 5.

This is more hopeful than anything, but I'm hoping Duncan's good form continues and that the Spurs can take the series in 6. :)

you know i really don't like people not giving the Spurs enough credit for winning a game and putting up a tough fight in game one. everyone just accounts it to the Lakers playing sh*tty as if they're all high and mighty (all the laker fans will say this is so) and only lose a game when THEY'RE not up to it. But damn, the Spurs have played a great series so far after so many people have assumed the Lakers to run away with everything before the season even started. Give the Spurs some credit.

exactly. Lakers arent playing bad, trust me. thats just the way it goes against a good defensive team.
