Spurrier should have passed on South Carolina

Sucks to be a Gamecock fan right now. Especially those diehard fans expecting Spurrier to win a national championship in year 3.

Rule #1 of college coaching: Never follow Lou Holtz at any program. Holtz has a long history of jumping ship right before the sh!t hits the fan and leaving whoever follows him to clean up the mess. He did it at Minnesota, he did it at Notre Dame and now he's done it at South Carolina.

No, I seriously doubt any of them expect a national championship in 3 years. All they want is for Spurrier to have better success than Holtz.

Challenge.

No high expectations by Spurrier, just to kick start the progam.

He failed in the majors after succeeding in the minors. Here is a change for him to get back into the swing of things without the pressure being put on him to replace his previous success.
