Doubt if they want him anymore. I hear Duke is hiring though...Maybe Army?

There's also Nebraska. But their interim coach seems to be doing well over there. I wonder if Spurrier was to end up at Nebraska if he could bring that program back to his glory days that they had with Tom Osborne.

He'd have to introduce the forward pass. Not sure how long that would take Nebraska to pick up.

Doh, but he wouldn't have gotten an extension next year. Snyder seems fairly impatient.

I also bet Synder was making his life miserable. Why else would someone turn down 15 million for working next season?

there was speculation for awhile now herein in DC that Spurrier would leave on his own accord. Still disappointing though. I thought he'd give it at least 3 years

At least 10 years, the Huskers get impatient after a half a season though. No way he could make it there

For 15 million I'd put up with a lot of crap.

That's why admire Barry Alverez head coach of the Badgers. He has turned down numerous job offers in the pro's. he knows he has it made where he is.

Boss Ross is the new coach at army so that ain't gonna happen.

Nebraska is a possibility.

i also just read that he can't coach in the NFL for another three years unless his new team offers the redskins compensation, so basically, he's out of the NFL and has to go back to college, i dont think any team views him as a good enough coach to give up money, draft picks, or both

not if u have 50-60 already

but it takes a brave man to not put up with that kinda sh*t and leave even if it did cost him 15 million 🙂

Louisiana Lafayette or Monroe?

wow, i really thought he would stick through 3 years at least.
reason being that was his criteria when he first got there, he said he would be able to lead the franchise is the right direction by at least the third season. too bad, though the moves they have made during the offseason and re-signing star players, i thought they might have a shot next year. alas, oh wells.

ESPN.com link

He is claiming he didn't resign ... sounds like they may want to get a new coach and not honour his contract. Although, it would be hard to pull off completely lying about his resignation. Who knows ...
