Write a letter of resignation for the exact date. They should appreciate the fact that you were straight with them instead of not coming in to work.

How the hell can you seriously have trouble resigning I am all you need to do is right a simple letter about it letting them know your end date and how you liked working for their company.

All they need this stupid letter for is to keep it on file.

Make sure you give them a letter though and keep a copy for yourself also if you can email the letter as well and keep a copy of that in case they try to fire you if you tell them you are quitting.
