Not even going to do what I do for n00bs and post the actual link this time.

I have looked on google I was looking more for people who have made them before.

Main question: Anyone have any tips on how to make one and what the best materials to use are?
EDIT: Look at my above post... something tells me you could find that there too. Just a hunch though.

Is it gonna be pneumatic, or are you going to use propellant?
i made one a few years back out of PVC. it was powered by WD-40 and a piezo barbecue ignitor. Pretty cool until i stupidly stuffed a rock down the barrel. It failed to fire, and luckily didn't explode in my face. I realized my retardedness at that moment and was afraid to play with again. Lesson of the day: don't play with homemade firearms/pyrotechnics

There's always the typical spud gun that uses hairspray, with about a 2.5 to 3 inch diameter chamber on the back, and a 1 inch barrel. Works decently, not THAT dangerous, unless you're an idiot.
Mine is a pneumatic, since i figured it'd be cheaper than propellent, i wasnt paying for the parts, and because I planned on making a rapid fire model using a CO2 tank. Hasnt been tested though, it's been shelved, like any other half-ass project.
