Sprinting Workout?

Yo,

I want to start a sprinting workout. Back in high school I was a long distance guy. I wasn't a very good long distance guy, but I ran. But now I want to start sprinting. Does anyone know anything about sprinting workouts?

run on a track, sprint the straight aways, and then walk the rounded parts, so u are doing like 100m dashes. Works well

For maximum performance, use a headband, and possibly several wristbands.

And really thick wool socks.

pyramids work well imo...

50, 100, 200, 400, 400, 200, 100, 50

that sorta thing.

Yep, aka. high intensity training (HIT). Supposed to have similar results to spending 2x as much time doing traditional cardio.

Put weights on some sort of platform. Attach that platform on you (either by a belt or something) and run as fast as you can on the track. They usually sell this stuff so you don't have to make your own now.

I saw that and pondered on it, but I'm a long distance runner (4 miles in 23 mins, my goal is 20) =0)

Bulk up, you noticed all of the 100 and 200m runners are a lot more built than the long distance runners in the olympics right?
You need a lotta muscle to do explosive sprints, as opposed to a skinny physique for marathon.

Pyramid workout is a very good idea, also the runstraight way and walk the curv one. Make sure you also do weight training on your legs.
