First, download the software free software from Sprint PCS.
Then get the date cable for only $14.95.
(I know it's not exactly the kit, but software is free, so you end up with same).
Sanyo 3000/ 4000/ 4500 Data Cable
Ordered my cable on Friday the 22nd, and got it today the 28th.
Tried it on laptop, and works great with my 4500
For those not familiar with wireless connection:
Your Sanyo phone is the modem. No other modem is needed.
The cable allows the phone to connect to a DB9 serial com port on your PC (laptop).
Works sorta like an external modem.
Speed is slow at present time. 14k to 19k.
But every companie's wireless data speeds are that slow for now.
The 4700 is setup for 3GHz, and when they get it going, it should connect
at 114k, or twice the speed of 56k modems.
You need to signup with Sprint for the wireless web.
Login to Sprint for software (url link won't work).
Click on details for "My Options", then look under "Included Sprint PCS Services".
Costs $5.00 a month, and besides enabling the wireless connect, it adds web browser to phone.
Minutes used come off your plan as though it was a phone call. Good for nights and weekends.
