I bought 700 shares of Sprint yesterday.

/brag :D

What do our ATOT investors think? I really like their recent business changes and their big gamble on rolling out WiMax early.

It looks like Sprint will have a solid 10 months of 4G exclusivity, as well as the new cheap walmart brand under the Common Cents brand they launched today.

If only they can get their horrible CS issues sorted out.

I'm so happy for you that sprint is up, but there's a stock market thread just for this.

Huh? They have the best CS in the business, by far. They were horrible a few years ago, but have already addressed that.

The last consumer reports put them at 1 point above AT&T, which was dead last.

VZ and Tmobile crushed them both.

Personal experience tells me the same.

Most of which is based off old experiences (it takes awhile to get that bad taste out of your mouth). Ask any current Sprint customer that's dealt with their customer service recently and they'll have nothing but good thigns to say.

For example, they randomly called me a couple months back just to see if I was satisfied with everything. I mentioned that everything was great except that the signal strength in my office was a bit meh. He said no problem, they'd send me one of their Airrave devices for free, and waive the monthly charge for it for as long as I needed it. Got it a few days later, hooked it up in my office, no problems ever since.

So how does Virgin Mobile fit into their business? Just curious.

They bought them a few years ago and operate it as a separate company using the Sprint network. They have several of these MNVO's of their own (Virgin, Boost Mobile, the new Common Cents). It allows them to offer different types of plans for different types of users.

Verizon is already testing and rolling out 4G LTE, so I don't think 10 months is likely.

$0.07/min seems like a nice deal, but there are so many additions, pay for this and that. Why can't a text just eat up one minute?

7% in a day is pretty good for a long term investment. I'm no day trader and i don't play with junk stocks.

But it's hardly anything to brag about in it's own thread, you could've just posted this in the official stock thread. People gain 7% everyday on good picks.

From a stock standpoint I could consider Sprint a worthy investment.
From a customer standpoint they suck balls. Actually, I suspect fucking over their customers is probably a good corporate strategy. If they get sued they just jack up everyones rates.

I'd have to agree with this. I had a terrible experience at least 10 years ago with their customer service. I will not use them to this day because of it, even though I really liked their coverage and had never had a problem up to that point.

Verizon says they wont have a 4g phone until mid 2011.

I agree, Slick must work for them or something

Yes, that must be it.

Or, I'm just a fairly new customer (switched to them last June when the Pre came out) and have been treated far better by them than any other cell company I've ever been with, save maybe for Alltel, but they don't exist anymore (poor Chad).

If you read the wireless forums, you'll see the satisfaction rating for Sprint has skyrocketed in the past 18 months.
