Sprint service in Hartford CT

Anybody else get god awful 3g speeds in hartford ct? I have been getting <80kbps for the past month where I should be getting 200-400.

I am eligible for an upgrade too, but am wary of going 4g on sprint when 3g is this terrible. Are 4g speeds decent in the area or are they crap too?

Sprint's 3G speeds are godawful everywhere. You're not alone. I get a few hundred kbps at best, and I've gotten under 100 before.

Their 4G speeds vary. Assuming you're covered at all, you could get anywhere from 1 to 8 Mbps. I tend to get between 6 and 8 Mbps, but apparently I'm well above average since their nationwide average 4G speeds are around 2 Mbps.

You can either tough it out, get an LTE phone, and hope their LTE network eventually covers you, or you can jump ship and switch to a carrier with better coverage and/or better speed. All the other networks offer superior speed, and Verizon and AT&T have better coverage too.

Yup. I just dumped Sprint because of the terrible data speeds. Over the past 2.5 weeks I took speed tests every day, and averaged them all together. Average speed = 300 kbit. There were a few days where I was in the 600s, and days where I was <100 kbit, but most of the time they would waver between 200-300 kbit. Basic web use was frustrating at best, and forget about PDFs or anything else that was MBs of data.

Overall, Sprints data service gets a big fat F. I do give them an A for voice and text service, though, I always had really good results with those.

Yea, the only reason I am still with Sprint is because I am on the old SERO plan, though unlimited data doesnt help when you only get 100kbps down...
