Sprint problem constant roaming

Basically Sprint tech support over the phone told me to switch carriers because of a major tower problem/upgrade going on in my area in the downtown chicago area and that they will not charge me for the early termination fees. Sprint tech support said this will be on-going until September. I only have about 7 months left on the contract which would cost Sprint $60.00 in ETF fees.

I have the SGS II Epic 4G Touch which is the top tier Android phone offered at the moment. I'm inclined to move to another carrier however, AT+T's data plans are not the best nor is Verizons. I'm looking for another solid top tier Android device but, seems like that might be months away for new releases? I'd like to check out the Galaxy Note or the new Galaxy Nexus but, if newer devices are expected I'd hate to jump late on the bandwagon.

Any suggestions?

Have you looked into t-mobile?
Yea, I like t-mobile and would prefer them but, I suppose i'm also looking for high end Android devices at the same time and that SGS II they offer is a downgrade to what I got now.

Verizon is doing their double data promo again so 4GB's for $30. It's not the unlimited you have now but ain't bad all things considered. Droid Razr Maxx, Razr, Nexus, Rezound, and Droid 4 aren't the worst things in the world by any means. We just had MWC so we should have a new crop before summer. You could pick up a used phone on craigslist and go no contract with VZW and contract up with a new phone this summer.

Is it just one spot you're having problems with? Will they offer you a Airave to keep you as a customer?

Yeah was about to say... a Airave should fix it if it's just at home. I have Sprint too and get pissed at converage sometimes but I will not give up my unlimited data and lower cost. The only exception may be a prepaid eventually.

Unfortunately it's not limited to one spot. Tech support sighed on the phone with me because she couldn't believe how much of an impact it was on surrounding zip codes.

I don't get why Verizon doesn't just up their data allowences permanently. It obviously is a boost to their business or they wouldn't keep doing it. And 2 extra GB of data costs them near nothing.

Because then it wouldn't be a promotion. Limited time only works better or advertising than "this is our normal price."
