Sprint PCS: switching phones?

My friend gave my his sprint PCS phone, which happens to be newer than the one I currently own. Is there an easy way of moving my account to the new phone?

Try their website. They should have instructions and you should be able to complete the process on line. If they state that they will charge you a fee to change phones, call CS and ask them to change it without charging you, because every other cell company does it for free.

grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr I just called them, and they gave me some bs about how this is an upgrade, and I would have to pay $36 or sign a year agreement - I even spoke with the manager (Luis) - fuxin bastards

Was going to say you'll get hit with an activation charge... unless you get a new plan w/ it.

That's how it works.

Thank you for your helpful post.

Anytime...

Gar598, I think you're gonna have to pay a small fee regardless. I'm pretty sure the only way to skip the charge is with a new activation, but I might be wrong.

No, there should no charge to change handsets. Call back and talk to someone else. Chances are they will waive that charge. You're not activating a new line of service so no activation charge.

yeah some CS's will charge you/make you sign new contract, others will let it pass. Just say I need to change ESN numbers... what's the big deal, it's a 1 minute process.
