Sprint, Moto, WiMAX, dual core, this is the Photon 4G.

Or the Sunfire.

But fortunately for the impatient amongst us, the rumor mill never stops turning, and TechnoBuffalo has heard from a "very well-positioned source" that the highlight of the event will be the Photon 4G. And if said tipster is to be believed, the Photon will be a seriously drool-worthy device – look no further than the spec sheet for proof of that:

*
Android 2.3 (Gingerbread)
*
4.3-inch qHD (960×540) display
*
WiMAX support
*
NVIDIA Tegra 2 dual-core CPU
*
1GB RAM
*
8MP camera
*
Latest version of MOTOBLUR (think DROID X 2)
*
Soft-grip battery cover with metal kickstand
*
Laptop dock (think ATRIX 4G)
*
Slated for a release in July

I am sure it'll have a locked bootloader, like all Moto devices. That and MotoBlur is a heck of a deterrent. Lust worthy specs, but I think on Sprint the Nexus S 4G is the phone to buy.

Can you think of any reason why one would buy this phone instead of the Evo 3D?

Its good to have options and choices. Course, choosing between Blur and Sense, both with locked bootloaders, is like choosing whether to eat horse or cow feces. :p

Anyone have a comparison link of all the difference cpus and gpus? I have no idea what the difference is between tegra vs qualcomm vs exnos gpus etc.

I'd take it over the EVO 3D based on the specs. But WIMAX is a complete failure so I have zero interest in either.

The specs seem pretty darn similar to the 3D, I would say. The slightly higher MP camera doesn't matter to me but the kickstand might be useful. I like Sense better than Motoblur though so the choice might come down to pricing and availability.
