Sprint Blackberry 8330 to Pay as you go possible?

Hi there

My sister got a new touch phone and gave me her blackberry 8330 from sprint. I wanna know is it possible to unlock it and use it as a pay as you go phone?

If not, it would seem like a waste for such a nice phone

I just called Virgin Mobile, they use Sprint's network but they said I can't use Sprint's Blackberry with Virgin Mobile pay as you go.

Is he just saying that to get me to "spend my money" on their phone or is it really true? I mean they use Sprint's network and their CDMA technology so I dunno why i can't unlock it and use it with Virgin mobile.

I see people advertising on craigslist that they can flash them to work on boost mobile, which makes sense since boost offers them.
