I personally can't wait for opening day.

Thus far, the Braves have been whipping some tail. A few interesting substories going on right now....

Will DeRosa beat out Castilla for third base? I think so and hope so....I don't know where Vinny's bat has gone, but I don't see him finding it any time soon and Derosa was batting something like .345 last year before getting hurt.

Mike Hampton? Can he get it together? He got a lot of ground outs in his last start, but also got SHELLED in one inning....

How's your team doing?

My team is the Yankees, and they are stinking up Florida. But they did that for the last 4 years running too. Spring Training records mean absolutely nothing.

True, but it's always interesting to see how the teams sort themselves out personnel-wise. We could have a good year or a mediocre year ahead of us depending on a few wildcards like Hampton and Byrd.

honestly? I don't pay much attention to records and the like during spring training. I'll pay attention to that come opening day.

Spring training is like practice, and really doesn't interest me. well...other than sitting in the Arizona sun on a Tuesday afternoon watching baseball in March.

The Braves doing well in the spring has me worried. Usually they don't do so hot during the spring and then kick butt in the regular season.

Castilla is terrible, the Braves seriously need to ditch him. He's hitting terrible this spring, picking up where he left off last year.

The Cubs...will suck as usual. I just hope the end is quick (say, start off with a 20-game losing streak) so I don't have to put up with the always annoying (and always unfounded) optimism of my fellow fans.

yes, words cannot describe how much I hate the incessant yammering of Cubs fans. This past off-season has been especially trying as they apparently perceive Dusty Baker as some kind of genetically engineered Jesus Christ/Superman hybrid. Foolishness springs eternal, I guess.

I predict that Piazza will get into 10 more bench-clearing brawls because of being beamed by everyone.

Mota was such a sissy running away into the locker rooms and then leaving in a getaway car. Luckily he didn't throw harder because he could clock it up in the high 90s and really hurt someone. With that said...GO DODGERS!!!

I am curious to see how the Braves starting rotation turns out.

I'm a Yankees fan so I'm not real worried about spring training. David Wells just nominated himself to be an uber a$$hat with his book thats for sure. I wonder how Matsui will do. I'm expecting a .270-.280 with a .370 on-base percentage.
