Storms in Dallas

Me on the phone this morning: "I need to take the day off a big tree fell over & is on my roof."

"We're pretty short, can you come in?"

Me: "There's a big tree on my roof."

"Oh, OK, see you tomorrow."

Whoops, North Central Texas, picky picky:D

I used to chase tornados in the Dakotas when I grew up, & I was here when the Ft. Worth tornado hit, lived in Kansas when the big ones hit in the early 90's, work buddy's grandson was killed by it.

Did it damage your roof lee?

Nope, roof is fine, just had to tinker with the satellite dish to get a signal again.

Yep, hot & humid as hell today, they say there will be more severe weather tonight...

The LCD TV is cool as hell, really wished we had one last night when the power went off.

We have double throw light switches & the whole house came alive @ 2am this morning, I got up & turned everything off.

The intercom option on our phone system was pretty neat to adjust the satellite dish with:)

I'm a bit southeast in Nacogdoches and it got pretty damn windy and wet here last night. Power went out briefly and then we had a couple dozen brownouts for a few hours. A friend who lives nearby didn't have any power at all from 11pm to 7am. Cable TV & internet went out around midnight (ohh noes!) and was still out at 4am when I went to bed.

Got a few small trees down, nothing major though. One got hit by lightning by my apartment complex's office and was split in half, though I haven't seen it myself.

I am in Fort Worth and it was really bad last night. The news said something about 500, 000 people lost power and as of the time of this post 300,000 still lack power.

I got a big chunk of tree that fell over in the backyard and just various little branches all over teh front yard. Another night of fun incoming!

Fort Worth here. Two nights of storms wasn't that bad. At least over by south Fort Worth, next to Benbrook. The storm from a month or two ago was worse. I even went to the parking garage at the mall to hide from fail. This recent storm was mostly wind and rain.

Umm, no. Something like 2.25" the night of the post, rain was going sideways. Hail the size of peas. Not sure how much last night.

Wasn't so bad - power briefly cut out for 2 seconds. The best part about the rain is it keeps all the stragglers and crap out of the gym - again, about half as full as it usually was :)
