A 0.XXX-kg block is dropped straight downwards onto a vertical spring. The spring constant of the spring is XX N/m. The block sticks to the spring and the spring compresses XXX m before coming to a momentary halt. What is the speed of the block just before it hits the spring?

can you guys give me some more help? or hints

i have no idea on this question at all, tried 4 times and have nothing. i have one more try.
