Spring cleaning via Craigslist

With the economy the way it is, I decided to go in my closet and try to pawn of the stuff I find.

I sold my 27" JVC TV that I have since replaced with a Toshiba LCD TV for $50 last week.
Today I sell a Sony Handycam for $150.

Now, I'm also trying to sell my Nintendo Wii for about $400 with 5 games + 3 extra controllers. I think thats way over market price but there are always some suckers out there. The only problem is that it takes time for someone to find you. Case in point, I remember selling my gamecube with 4 games for $175 after I bought my Wii 2 years ago.

Anyway, since I started I'm thinking about listing every single thing that I don't essentially need. I have these really nice wireless Logitech Z-5450 5.1 speakers that I purchased primarily for gaming. But since I live in a condo, the neighbors get angry when I pump up the volume that loud.

Also I have my Nintendo DS Lite that I rarely use anymore. Thinking of putting that up too.

And while I was at it, I was also thinking of selling my 2008 Toyota camry since I rarely drive anywhere anymore (yay for Mass Transit!).

Am I going overboard?

No, of course not. I think I speak for everyone here when I say that we're all endlessly fascinated by the pointless details of your pathetically mundane life.

What did you have for lunch? No, wait, what were you thinking of having before you made the choice that you finally went with?

Well?

Oh come on, we are all entitled to a blog.anandtech.com post every now and then!

Why are you selling your Wii?????

I haven't turned it on in ages. In fact, the only video game I've been playing lately has been Street Fighter 4 on the PS3 and I think its going to be that way for sometime.

I had a tuna sandwich on whole wheat toast along with some pretzels.

I sold my old component rack through craigslist this morning for $60 (bought it for $35 about 4-5 years ago)

It's an internet forum where people can post pretty much what they want. Why are you so pissed? It's like going to ESPN and getting pissed because they posted hockey scores or something.

It's not like the thread title misrepresented the content. You shouldn't have even clicked on it and you're giving the OP crap...interesting.

He's not pissed, just sarcastic. Come on you have to admit it was kind of funny. Even the OP didn't get his feathers ruffled about it.

ANYWAYS BACK ON TOPIC

No, mAdMaLuDaWg, you're not going overboard. However I advise you keep the car so long as you can afford it comfortably. Mass Transit is shitty and getting shittier. You never know when you'll need to take an emergency ride or transport something bulky. Good luck moving the Wii at that price by the way. The market for them dried up around Christmas and it looks like it will stay that way unless Nintendo drops a 'megaton' at E3.

Sell away ...

Recommend against listing everything that you have for sale in one listing though. Things sell better/faster if you list them separately.

Good luck ...

Where was he pissed? Looked to me just answering the question.

Craigslist is sometimes useful but last time I sold a laptop on it, it took going through about 30 nigerian type scammers before I found an actual local person who made a reasonable offer.

Usually Craigslist is full of people wanting to sell their 5 year laptop for more than a new and more powerful one goes for.

I have not got a scammer in a long time.

I always have fun with them.

You're not just selling Wii sports (5 games) and counting a nunchuck as a controller are you? 😛

Wow, that blows man. Good luck on the job search.

Actually, I do have an ulterior motive of doing all this. I've decided to goto grad school next year, so I'm unloading on all the stuff I don't need to start putting extra cash in my grad school reserve fund.
