The SC9861G-IA platform is a highly integrated LTE chip solution that delivers outstanding power-saving performance. It supports 5-mode (TDD-LTE / FDD-LTE / TD-SCDMA / WCDMA / EGG) full-band LTE Category 7 (Cat 7) communication, as well as Carrier Aggregation and TDD/FDD hybrid networking. The platform enables a peak target data transmission rate of 300 Mbps downlink and 100 Mbps uplink, and the superior multimedia configurations by supporting dual cameras up to 26 megapixels with real-time rear/front camera capture/recording, refocusing, image fusion and real 3D shooting.
The platform achieves ultra-HD 4K2K video recording and playback with HEVC hardware encoding and decoding technology, and supports high-resolution WQXGA (2560 x 1600) displays. Also spotted a slide on China sites that was claiming 2GHz clocks, assuming up to and not for all 8.
All in all rather pointless considering perf and area for the Atom core.

?? And now who will buy it? ASUS?

Also performace wise is worse than Mediatek in GPU. If the CPUs are A72 tier they would have an edge.

The big problem is the compability with Android..

Cortex A72 "performance" doesn't mean Cortex A72 power consumption/efficency/area.

This Spreadtrum SoC looks decent except for the garbage CPU cores.

Put some proper ARM cores in that sucker and it could be good.

Or by default Goldmont ones.

The Airmont are ARM A57 at best. At least is on 14 nm and it won't overheat... Also has a GPU which is not power consuming BTW (Power VR GT 7200)

BTW... no Geekbench results from it.
I saw that Geekbench 4 doesn't show the Asus Zenfone 2 results and I managed to find one of it...
At 1.86 Ghz the ST is 906 and MT is 2419.

Comparing to the Moto X Style, which had 2.00 Ghz ARM A57 and 1.4 Ghz ARM A53 it managed to bring
