Here's a screenshot of part of a spreadsheet I've been using for some time. What I would ideally like to do (but I don't think it's actually possible) is to have a nice, graceful way of increasing the spacing between the headings (mauve-ish background colour) and the following text.
The first thing I tried was to increase padding at the bottom of the mauve background cells but that increases the size of the mauve area rather than increasing the white space between the mauve area and the text beneath. In a word processor I'd adjust the 'below paragraph' spacing. The only other (spreadsheet) options I can think of are somewhat less graceful, such as:
1 - create a dummy row between mauve cell and following text, adjust height of row to be whatever amount of 'padding' I want.
2 - applying cell formatting to each row immediately beneath a mauve cell
