spraying thick "paint" stuff

Trying to apply curing compound evenly on a concrete thing (6" diameter). The compound is a little bit thicker than latex paint. We were thinking about using some garden sprayer thing but that might not work. Any ideas?

Start with a notched trowel.

EDIT: Just noticed that you said it was only a little thicker than latex paint. Depending on how nice it has to look, just pour it out when the "thing" is on its side (support the sides).

it has to be pretty consistent... the thickness i meant.

Whatever you do, don't buy one of those Wagner paint spray guns. They're absolutely awful.
