SPRAY PAINTED DRIVES. Which paint?

I have beige drives in a black antec clone case.......

i've seen pictures of cases that are self-painted, and they all look thick and nasty and unprofessional

I want a paint that is cheap, goes on smooth/thin, looks not too glossy......... and won't peel off.

What brand of paint meets these requirements, and where could I buy it?

first off, you'll get more help in the "Cases/Cooling" section.

anyway, Krylon is the tried and true. I've heard some good stories from people that use automotive paint from auto stores.

Try going to a paint shop that sells paint that is for auto bumpers. You know the hard plastic bumpers. It is usually available in three or four metallic gray-bronze colors as well as black. Try to apply 3-5 thin even coats. You can even get a clear coat to top it off if you like. It's kind of pricey but it is tough as nails and looks great?

Some guy used "real dye." Read about it here. I plan on doing that one unless more people come here. I don't really want that high gloss look. My Chieftec DX-01BD has that rough industrial black look which I would like to keep consistent. If I had these really glossy metallic drives it wouldn't match.

yea, Krylon semi gloss.

I painted my drives to match my aluminum case, much better.

BTW, I did buy a silver floppy drive when my drive failed. It turned out to be no better than what I had done myself,
