So, the new Spotify beta has apps. I thought it was a dumb idea when they announced it but I have to admit they are pretty amazing. The showcase is the radio app which is basically Pandora with unlimited skips and the ability to seek. I'm finding it hard to think of what use Pandora has anymore.

They also have Moodagent where you drag a track and it makes a playlist based on that song that you can tweak to your mood (make it more angry, happy, etc). Oh yeah and a last.fm app where you can get infos on what you're playing. Very cool.

The old Spotify had zero music discovery and I was ready to dump it. I was at a brick wall WRT music now I find I'm big into noise pop, twee, shoegaze, and dream pop. I didn't even know what that meant last week.

Anyone using it?

Oh yeah yeah grooveshark blablabla -- save your post.

Better than Slacker? I'll have to look into it.

Slacker has me hooked with the station caching. I can queue up like 15 different channels on my phone and have a couple hours of content per station to listen too. Go home and refresh and get new stuff. Awesome service. Oh and no overplaying of live tracks like Pandora has too much of a habit of.

I haven't messed with Spotify very much. Downloaded it once and and the interface felt a bit...busy.
