What RWD sports cars or sedans have the best stability control systems? I want to get a RWD sports car, but given what happened to my last BMW without such a system in the rain, I am thinking stability control might be nice this time around.

Still though, I would like one that lets you get a little bit sideways before kicking in.

I know the FR-S has a good system, and I am seriously thinking of buying that car because of it, but I would prefer a nicer car. Used is fine.

Any thoughts?

2 times I inadvertently caused my Sky Redline to do a pretty ballsy spin out where I probably would have done a 180 if not for for the ESC. But it kicked in and saved my butt from what could have been a pretty serious f up on my part. I don't know the exactly tech specs on the Stabilitrak they used, I'm assuming it's not the same shit found on the Vets or high end Camaros. But I like it, you can turn it completely off or turn it to competitive mode with the press of a button. I definitely notice the difference between the 3 and in competitive mode, as jlee mentioned you get some leeway to have fun but it'll kick in and give you assistance if you do go a little overboard.

In general, GM has always done a good job with stability control. They do a great job when fully engaged and allow it to be backed down to completely off.
