Although this is a printer problem it only happens on my OSX.4 system so I ask it in this forum.
here is the setup all new store bought ethernet cables into a linksys switch:
[MFC-8860DN] --> [linksys switch]
[powerbook OSX] --> [linksys switch]
[PC] --> [linksys switch]
[HP Inkjet] --> [linksys switch]
The PC prints fine.
All computers print fine to the HP.
I am having trouble scaning direct to the Mac and PC via the network but right now my issue is the spooling.
I got the sleep code from brother and now the printer never goes to sleep. So that is not the problem.
The PC prints fine to the Brother MFC-8860DN. Problem is to print from the mac mac to the Brother MFC-8860DN I have to reboot the Brother MFC-8860DN and only then does the printer begin to start spooling.
I talked to brother and they said they do not support switches, only routers. Well that is absurd so I turn here.
